Colorado football and teams nationwide are about to see a flurry of activity in the transfer portal. Lots of players exploring new options.
On Monday, On3Sports said CU’s Chazz Wallace will join the transfer portal, the first from CU this spring. Soon after, more players followed suit. Changes are brewing in the team.
On Monday, On3Sports announced safety Jaden Milliner-Jones and offensive linemen Isaiah Jatta and Savion Washington will join the transfer portal. For undergrads, the 15-day spring window opens Tuesday until April 30.
Wallace, a 6-foot-2, 295-pound senior with one more year to play, had a solid season for the Buffs, with 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 11 games. Before CU, he played three seasons at Old Dominion, where he tallied 47 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 23 games.
Washington, standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 320 pounds, was a key player for the Buffaloes last season, starting in 10 games at right tackle and playing 660 snaps. He transferred to CU from Kent State a year ago, where he also had an 11-game starting record in 2022.
Now that Washington is departing, all five of CU’s main offensive line starters from 2023 are gone. Not shocking considering their struggles. Coach Deion Sanders is shaking things up, bringing in five seasoned transfers and promising recruit Jordan Seaton.
Jatta, a 6-6, 300-pound tackle, appeared in 11 games and started once, mainly contributing on special teams. He joined CU last year after transferring from Snow College in Utah.
Miller-Jones, a standout from DeSoto High School in Texas, joined CU last year and quickly made an impact. He played in all 12 games, starting one, and contributed 25 tackles and three pass breakups. A promising talent for the Buffs.
Monday’s news also mentioned Deeve Harris, a former CU defensive end, entering the transfer portal. Harris, who played in all 12 games as a backup last season, departed from the Buffs before spring. He joined CU from Old Dominion a year ago.
