Shedeur Sanders fires back at Colorado criticism.
The Buffaloes QB hits back at Xavier Smith’s criticism, labeling him ‘pretty average’ on social media.
Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best. https://t.co/qwK48Ys0Et

Smith voiced disappointment with how Deion Sanders, Shedeur’s dad and the Colorado coach, handled his situation. He claimed the coach advised him to transfer, saying it would be a ‘wasted year’ if he stayed.
He was really knocking guys’ confidence,” Smith told Max Olson of The Athletic. “He could’ve been a bit more compassionate in how he handled it.
Smith moved to Austin Peay.
Sanders has made it crystal clear about his stance on transfers since joining Colorado. He’s focused on completely transforming the program. If a player doesn’t align with his vision, they’ll either be let go or encouraged to transfer.
This kind of ruthless approach is bound to upset folks, especially those who expected a four-year commitment to one place. It’s like bringing a pro mindset to a game that’s always danced between being pro and being about student-athletes.
Sanders’ blunt truth was sure to stir up resentment from ex-players. While some might appreciate the honesty, it’s probably not much comfort for those whose dreams got dashed.
Shedeur reacting to player comments makes sense, but it might not reflect well on the program.
