Paul Finebaum shared his latest thoughts on Colorado’s coach, Deion Sanders.
A week after dismissing the Buffs as “irrelevant” in college football, Finebaum suggested that Deion Sanders would be an ideal replacement for USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley. The Trojans, heading to the Big Ten, had a tough season last year, and while Riley hasn’t been let go yet, Finebaum and others think he’s under significant pressure in his third year in Los Angeles.
According to Finebaum on ESPN’s “First Take,” Coach Prime is a strong candidate for the USC head coach role. He explained why Sanders would be a great fit for the job.
“I believe the answer after this season is Deion Sanders,” Finebaum said. “He’s going to be tired of Colorado because quite frankly, it’s not prime time. He’s done as well as he can with his son and Travis Hunter and all the Stephen A. and Shannon Sharpe appearances. But that’s really going to dry up this year because they’re not going to be that great.
“But you put Prime in Tinseltown, and I think you have one of the great combinations in history… I think Deion Sanders as the coach at Southern Cal is the answer to the problems.”
Finebaum didn’t mention Sanders’ loyalty to Colorado.
