Deion Sanders and Colorado’s football team received an uplifting message from an NFL legend before the 2024 season.
Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed visited Boulder on Thursday to energize the Buffaloes for their upcoming season.
“Football is like being in battle,” Reed said at the 14:20 mark. “You’re part of a team, like an army. Do you get that? It’s intense and tough. Your mind and body need to be in top shape. You can’t be exhausted. You need to have the energy to play well every day, so rest up the night before and keep it up throughout the week.”
The Buffs can take inspiration from Reed, who made 644 tackles, 64 interceptions, and scored seven touchdowns in 12 NFL seasons.
Colorado had a rough start in 2023 under Sanders. Despite a strong 3-0 start with wins over TCU, Nebraska, and Colorado State, they struggled and ended the season 4-8.
Sanders and his team made big moves this offseason, bringing in top recruits and standout transfer players. Colorado’s transfer class is now ranked eighth nationally, according to 247Sports.
The Buffs will start their turnaround attempt next Thursday against North Dakota State.
