Travis Hunter focuses on his body’s health to excel in both roles for the Colorado Buffaloes.
In an interview with ESPN’s Ryan McGee, Hunter shared that he attends daily treatments to manage his workload. He also expressed confidence in his ability to keep playing on both offense and defense.
In 2023, the junior athlete stood out by catching 57 passes, scoring five touchdowns, and making 30 tackles with three interceptions.
Hunter showcased his skills in Colorado’s 31-26 win over North Dakota State, making three tackles and shining as a wideout with seven catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
Although Hunter disagrees, many fans think his two-way playing days are limited, as there’s no modern NFL example to follow. Players like Deion Sanders did both offense and defense, but those attempts eventually stopped.
If Hunter is picked as projected in the 2025 NFL draft, teams might consider it too risky to let him regularly play both cornerback and receiver. Bleacher Report‘s mock draft has him going first overall to the Denver Broncos.
The 21-year-old knows that excelling as a two-way player in the NFL means paying extra attention to his training and recovery both on and off the field.
