Colorado Buffaloes Aim to Bounce Back Against Delaware in Week 2 Test
Boulder, CO — The Colorado Buffaloes are hungry for their first win of the season this Saturday as they host the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens at Folsom Field. The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
After a season-opening 27–20 loss to Georgia Tech, Colorado is looking to reset and regain momentum. Kaidon Salter started at quarterback last week and went 17-for-28 for 159 yards and a passing touchdown, while adding a rushing score.
Colorado will also debut true freshman Julian “JuJu” Lewis, a five-star high school prospect who reclassified early and joined the team this season. Head coach Deion Sanders confirmed Lewis will see action, though Salter remains the starter.
On the ground, Micah Welch led Colorado’s rushing attack with 64 yards on 11 carries last week, while Simeon Price and Micah Welch combined to diversify the backfield efforts.
Defensively, the Buffaloes must address significant issues after allowing Georgia Tech to rush for 320 yards.
Delaware comes in off a 35–17 win against Delaware State, powered by quarterback Nick Minicucci, who threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another score. Receivers Jake Thaw and Kyre Duplessis also shined, each hauling in seven catches and a touchdown.
