Colorado star Shedeur Sanders recently connected with NBA star Kyrie Irving at a WNBA playoff game featuring the New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces.
Sanders, gearing up for his NFL debut in 2024 with the Buffs, mentioned he gained valuable insights from their conversation and intends to stay connected with Irving going forward.
“He has an incredible depth of knowledge,” Sanders shared during his podcast (21:00 mark). “He’s accomplished most of what I aspire to in life. Surrounding yourself with such individuals and learning from them can save time, money, and reduce mental stress. I’m thrilled to have connected with him; it feels like a lifelong bond.”
When Irving was selected first overall by the Cavs in the 2011 NBA draft, high hopes surrounded him. He has certainly delivered, securing an NBA championship and earning numerous accolades throughout his career.
Sanders is now in a spot like Irving, gaining attention for his stellar college performance.
The quarterback has thrown for 1,630 yards with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions this season, helping the Buffs to a 4-1 record. He aims to build on his success this Saturday against Kansas State.
