2026 LB Colby Johnson Lines Up June 13-15 Official Visit With Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes

Class-of-2026 linebacker Colby Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound three-star prospect from Sammamish, Washington, has locked in an official visit to Colorado for the weekend of June 13-15. Johnson revealed the trip on X, saying he’s eager to strengthen his relationship with head coach Deion Sanders and linebackers coach Andre’ Hart.

Colorado offered Johnson on May 23, and the swift follow-up suggests genuine interest on both sides. Recruiting services rank him inside the top 120 linebackers nationally and among the top 15 players in Washington.

Johnson’s offer sheet already includes Wyoming, Montana, Utah State, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington State, and Fresno State. He originally planned to be at Fresno State the same weekend, but those plans have shifted in favor of Boulder. An official to San Diego State remains on his calendar for June 20.

The Buffaloes’ 2026 class currently sits at two early pledges—tight end Gavin Mueller (Illinois) and edge rusher Domata Peko Jr. (California). Only Utah matches Colorado for the fewest commits (two) among incoming Big 12 programs.

Inside linebacker depth could be a selling point. With the 2025 season approaching, transfers Martavius French (UTSA) and Reginald Hughes (Jacksonville State) are frontrunners to start, while 2025 signee Mantrez Walker and others compete for snaps.

Coach Sanders’ recruiting pitch remains direct: “If you want it, come and earn it—we don’t promise numbers or starting spots,” he told reporters last spring. Johnson will soon experience that message firsthand as Colorado works toward its third commit in the 2026 cycle.
